HAPPY 2011! and THANK YOU FOR A BEAUTIFUL 2010!

I am both , ashamed and appalled at the way I have neglected this here blog.

I will make it my business in 2011 to update this sucker at least once a month. That much I promise, and you know I don't like to throw the "P" word around lightly :)

Update: Benicio's book was misprinted in its entirety and will be reprinted, I'm sorry to inform you this bit of sad news, we were expecting to have this book way back in November, it really sucks not having it for Xmas :(

I'll be attending the Angoulême Festival from January 27th to the 30th, and will remain in Paris for a few days after that. Let's see if we can get together and go out for an adult beverage or some sketching, or both. I'll post more info here as soon as I know additional details.

The artist is the creator of beautiful things.

To reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.

The critic is he who can translate into another manner or a new material his impression of beautiful things.

The highest as the lowest form of criticism is a mode of autobiography. Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming.

Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art.

Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril.

Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital.

When critics disagree, the artist is in accord with himself.
