Gun Fu Progress

Nothing major to report, I slept all day Sunday after a sudden family emergency that kept me up for over 30 hours on Saturday, fortunately it was just a scare and everything's cool. The "incident" did stop me from finishing a Star Wars Poster collaboration with my good friend Howard Shum, things are back on track, more on that poster later.

Here's a Quicktime flick I did last year to show my layering process in Adobe Illustrator, using the Gun Fu cover/poster I did for Howard, check it out.

The artist is the creator of beautiful things.

To reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.

The critic is he who can translate into another manner or a new material his impression of beautiful things.

Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art.

Vice and virtue are to the artist materials for an art.

All art is at once surface and symbol.

Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril.

It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors.

Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital.

When critics disagree, the artist is in accord with himself.
